What is a 7/12 extract or ‘Saat Bara’?
Details of all property related entries are there on a 7/12 extract or ‘property card’ (only in cities). This is the most important document to establish the ownership of the property. While buying property please see to it that you have the lastest copy (not more than a week old) of the 7/12 extract issued by the concerned authority (Talathi office) |

Can just anyone buy agricultural land?
In order to be able to buy agricultural land you have to be a certified farmer or already an owner of agricultural land which you have to prove vide documents at the time of new registration. A non-agricultural plot can be bought by anyone. |
